  1. How to Embed a Signature in Gmail or Google Domains

Instructions for adding an image/logo signature to Gmail in HTML

If you look around the internet you will see forum after forum of people highly upset that websites are promising the answer to the problem of Gmail lovers the world over. How do you put an HTML signature in Gmail that includes a logo?

More than one way but we have the best

There are more than a few ways to accomplish this. We have found a pretty simple solution that seems to meet the needs of the people in our company so we thought we would share it with you. Several of us at Adworkz spent way too much time banging our head against Google trying to get around their “plain text only” rule for signatures. It doesn’t really make sense to us that Google does that, but who cares, we found a way around it.

The basic steps for adding an HTML signature to Gmail are as follows:

    • Click on the “Settings” tab in the upper right of your Gmail account.
    • Click on “Labs” which is a tab at the upper right.
    • Enable “Inserting images by Kent T.”
    • Enable “Canned Responses by Chad P.”
    • Format your HTML signature with no images.
    • Paste the HTML signature into a blank email.
    • Click the image insertion icon to put your signature logo in.
    • Select all and save by clicking the drop down under the new “Canned Responses” menu.
    • Open a blank email and click the “Canned Response” drop down menu and select “Insert” and the name that you saved your signature under.

It doesn’t really help. It’s a pin to have to choose my signature everytime I send an e-mail. The signature should be automatic!

Finally! I needed to create two separate signatures and sometimes don’t need any signature. Perfect solution. THANK YOU!

Thanks, great post with clear instructions. Just a point to note – I attempted this using IE7 (on Windows XP) and the image would not save to the signature, the path appeared to be broken. But when I attempted it in Firefox everything worked like a dream.

      Cheers!

This has been working for me for a while now, but today for some reason the images stopped being displayed. Anyone else seeing this?

I just set it up on Gmail with Firefox 3.5 and it works like a charm. Yes, it should be built-in, but this is an easy workaround.

The directions were clear and easy to follow. However…after the initial uploading of the image, it disappeared and turned into a red “x”. I noticed the previous poster’s images aren’t displaying properly, either. Is this new and is there a fix?
