The National Federation of Independent Businesses, Facebook and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have announced a partnership intended to target small businesses. Affiliate advertisers, as small businesses, could benefit from this partnership.
Small business partnership
Announced on Monday, Sept. 26, the partnership between the National Federation of Independent Businesses, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Facebook is intended to help small businesses grow. The partnership will have three major focuses: resources such as case studies and webinars; roadshows where experts will meet directly with small business owners to discuss best practices; and “Small Business Boost,” which will provide free advertising for more than 200,000 businesses on Facebook.
Small Business Boost
For affiliate marketers, the Small Business Boost element of this partnership will likely have the biggest effect. The program will provide about $10 billion worth of free Facebook advertising to about 200,000 small businesses. How these businesses will be chosen has not yet been outlined, but it will be in the coming months. On average, businesses will be given a $50 credit, which will be enough to run a limited campaign on Facebook’s advertising platform.
The cost of getting involved
Many of the resources and benefits of this partnership are available first for members of the NFIB or U.S. Chamber of Commerce. A membership in either one of these two associations does come with a cost, usually starting around $180. Joining a membership organization as a small business does have upfront costs, but that cost often pays back in trust. Logos from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce or NFIB often count as “trust indicators” on your website, which have been shown to increase the number of conversions.
